Eligibility and Fees

Membership Eligibility:

Membership in CEGN is open to organizations that:
  1. Make environmental grants in Canada; and
  2. Act primarily as grantmakers, not grantseekers.
In addition, member organizations of CEGN must, in the opinion of CEGN's Board, demonstrate environmental responsibility in their policies and operations.

The applicant agrees not to use its membership in CEGN for the purposes of grantseeking.

CEGN membership fees are assessed annually based on the applicant's total environmental granting in Canada in the applicant's last full fiscal year.

CEGN membership year runs from January 1st to December 31st. For new members joining after July 1st the fee will be discounted by 50%.

Each member organization will identify one individual to be the primary contact person for CEGN. Additional individuals affiliated with the member organization may participate in CEGN activities for a supplementary meetings/materials fee.

CEGN reserves the right to refuse membership to any organization that does not, in the opinion of CEGN's Board, fully meet all of the membership criteria.

Membership Categories and Fee Scale: (all amounts in Canadian dollars):

A. Full Membership

  • A sustaining membership option exists for those members who wish to provide additional membership support to CEGN beyond their regular full membership fee. The suggested sustaining membership fee is CDN$5,000 -- although members may choose to provide any other amount.
